[b]rief background; When he enlisted in the military, Jean originally had the mindset and goal of living life in the inner walls, amongst the Military Police. This ideal led him to butting heads with many people, none more-so than Eren Jäger. However, upon losing a dear friend in the Battle for Trost, Jean's dreams came shattering down around him. Instead of the safety and comfort of the inner walls, he joined the Survey Corps, after graduating 6th place. Now, almost ten years later, Jean is well on his path to becoming a leader, dealing with the mourning and death in good stride. No longer idiotic, to a degree, he has retained his level headedness, surprising many.
